This viral homemade dubai chocolate candy bar is really fun to make (if you can find all these ingredients and tools to make them)

Since I can’t get to Dubai anytime soon I just decided to make my own after seeing this viral trending candy bar recipe being made on Tiktok all over the place. I’m on Dubai Candy Bar Tiktok and Cottage Cheese Flatbread Tiktok. Both recipes are pretty darn tasty as well.

Have you ever tried homemade pistachio butter? You’d be surprised at how good it is!

Why You Will Like This Recipe

So I live in ND and where I’m from it was pretty hard to find pistachio butter and the Kaitafi so I just had to make them on my own.

I cut up some phyllo pastry dough really fine and and fried it in a pan with some olive oil. Then I blended some pistachios in a food processor until it was a butter like consistency.

I went to the kitchen store in the mall and asked if they had any chocolate bar molds and all they had were the tiny squares so that will do.

Mine doesn’t look like a real chocolate bar but there are different ways of making this chocolate bar especially if you can’t find certain products!

Making candy is so fun! You can make your own Twix Bars, Homemade Butter Fingers, or even Almond Joy bars. It’s so easy too.

Ingredients Needed

  • Chocolate of choice – I used Milk Chocolate Chips or you can also use melting chocolate candy melts
  • 1 6.5 oz jar of Pistachio Butter – (I had to make my own pistachio butter)
  • Kataifi – this is basically finely shredded phyllo dough. I’ve never heard of it or seen it in the stores in my area at all so I had to make my own)
  • Chocolate Molds Any Kind – can find these on Amazon or in a kitchen store wherever you live.
  • Edible Gold Glitter – optional (this I did not purchase)
  • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

How to make Dubai Chocolate Bar

Please note, the amounts of chocolate, pistachio butter, and kataifi may very depending on the side of your chocolate molds. I just had a little tiny mold.

Step 1: Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl melt the chopped-up chocolate. Layer a thin layer of chocolate into each mold and remove any excess chocolate.

Place in the fridge or freezer to set.

Step 2: Make the pistachio butter: In a food processor add the pistachios and puree the pistachios until they are smooth like an almond butter consistency. In a bowl mix the kataifi and pistachio butter until well combined. Skip this step if you have a jar of storebought pistachio butter.

Step 3: Fill the molds with the pistachio butter and place the mold in the freezer again.

Step 4: Spread another layer of chocolate over the pistachio layer and place it back in the freezer for one last time. Take the chocolate candy or bars out of the molds and enjoy.

P.S. This step was kind of messy. lol

Glass Pyrex bowls – for melting the chocolate and storing extra homemade PIstachio Butter in.

Pistachio Butter – Pistachio nut butter with green pistachios from Bronte Sicily such as Campo’ De Oro.

How do I store leftovers?

Always store leftovers in clean, food-grade containers. The type of container doesn’t really matter. Use zip lock, glass, plastic,  whatever!  Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container.
