From Colorado to the Boston Celtics to the Detroit Pistons to the Hall of Fame, Chauncey Billups has finally achieved the highest honor of his basketball career. His 17-year expertise in the NBA as a player has got an answer. While the entire attention is on his career achievements, championship, all-NBA selections, etc., let’s take a look at how much the 47-year-old earned, both on and off the court, which involves his investment with a former NBA player in a popular fast-food chain.

Billups played for eight different teams in the NBA. His best years came with the Detroit Pistons, where he won his first and last championship in 2004. He played seven seasons with them, where he earned the most during his career. Billups introduced Salon Plaza in 2019, a franchise for independent stylists to run a business with their skills in styling. This is a side of business that not many NBA players have bravely chosen. Today, he has a net worth of about $45 million. However, the above business moves were not the only ones that helped him earn this money. In 2020, Billups surprised us with a return to the NBA, but this time as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers. After one season with the LA unit, he was made the head coach of the Portland Trailblazers, whom he continues to represent.

How much does Billups continue to earn as a head coach in the NBA?

After working with Ty Lue for the Clippers till 2021, the Blazers decided to hire Billups. He was endorsed by former Blazers star Damian Lillard publicly. The 48-year-old shared on joining the team, “Portland is a special place and a unique franchise…I want to say to the fans that I know what this team means to you, and I promise to pour every ounce into continuing to make you proud.”

Although the words were promising, his first three seasons with the Blazers were a bit disappointing. He has not made it to the playoffs as a head coach. Coming to his contract with the team, it is quite a mystery. There’s not much information about it, but a few online sources have revealed it is $2 million a year
