What’s The Best RV Cooking Equipment for RV Life

Whether you’re cooking inside or outside, we have our list of the Best RV Cooking Equipment. Plus we’ll include links to each of these RV Kitchen Essentials and the reason why each of them made it to the list. After we got past the fact that living in the camper wasn’t a permanent vacation, there has been lots of cooking going on.

Electric Griddle

Even though your camper has a stove and even an oven, the electric griddle makes cooking breakfast significantly easier. A close friend, and life long camper, gave us this suggestion and it has proven priceless.

Instead of cooking bacon inside where the grease will splatter everywhere, with the griddle we cook it outside. This makes for a much easier clean-up. Plus, the griddle is fantastic for making eggs and pancakes. So all of your breakfast essentials can be cooked up and cleaned up in a jiffy.

Table Top Stove

On those hot days when the last thing we want to do is heat up the camper, we pull this guy out. It’s a table top, propane stove. When it’s just the two of us, and the meals are smaller, this is a perfect 2 burner stove. We can make pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or any other dish that wouldn’t work well with just a griddle.

Air Fryer

Who Knew!? When speed and ease are part of the plan, you can’t go wrong with an air fryer. We use this one because we can make a whole rotisserie chicken in it! Even when we’ve been out hiking all day, we can get a nice warm meal without much effort.

Camp Chef Stove

You would be correct – I have 2 stoves listed here. However, this one has several accessories that can be added. You can turn it into a grill, a griddle, or a combination of both. Plus it’s still a stove. Due to the size of this one, we only pull it out when we’re doing group camping with friends. Because we all have the same one, we can put together a kitchen with a few ways to rustle up our favorite eats.

Crock Pot / Slow Cooker

We would be completely lost without our crockpot. If you’re planning an all day adventure, you can come back to your campsite to dinner being ready. You can use this puppy inside or outside with a small table. Because they come in varying sizes, you can find the one that fits your needs. And now you can make the best one pot wonders and dips for everyone to enjoy with little effort and time spent cooking.

Good Pots and Pans

Just like in your home, a good set of pots and pans in your RV is important. The last thing you want is plan a perfect meal for the family and have it ruined because of a crappy pan. When setting up the kitchen in your camper, don’t just put your old pans in there. You’ll want to make sure you treat your RV kitchen just as well as your home kitchen.

Portable Smoker

One of the downsides to living in our RV is Doug couldn’t bring his smoker along, it was just too big. Recently we bought a Pit Boss portable smoker. Doug loves it so much he wrote a review about it that you can read here: Pit Boss Portable Smoker Review

It is small enough to keep in the RV with us, and we can still enjoy a nice smoked brisket when we want too. The set it and forget it ease of an electric smoker means we can turn it on in the morning, and dinner is ready when we get home.

What Do You Use?

Just because we live in a camper full time doesn’t mean that we can’t prepare gourmet meals if we want to. Ensuring that we have the most effective equipment though, makes a huge difference. What equipment do you make sure you always have in your camper to make the best meals possible?
