Sleep has not been a thing at our house lately, and there was no way I could get myself out before Andrew left for work, so I went later than normal. I felt like I was heat training and it was only 58° haha.

A few of you recommended that I try this allergy medication, and so far, it has been working like a dream. I don’t feel any side effects from it and it zaps my allergies away. I’m grateful I’ll be able to enjoy the trails this year.

I’ll definitely be avoiding the tall grass that gave me that crazy allergic reaction last year.

When your shoes match the flowers, you have to take a picture.

1200 ft of gain! I’m trying to get in ‘challenge runs’ (this is from my old coach) again the day after a speed workout. The goal of a challenge run is to get on the dirt the day after a hard workout to get in some good climbing. The cardio feels good on these days but the legs burn like crazy.

My nephew watched Beck while I ran, and they had the best time together. I lucked out having the best examples for my kids with their cousins down the street from us.

It was an outside kind of day (again, thank you for the allergy recommendations) so I can be outside with them!

With plenty of popsicles.

The soccer season is almost over so we soaked in one of our last games:

I can retire now that Kara Goucher has liked my reel. Actually, I won’t ever retire, you can’t get rid of me, haha.
When I first started running, I am embarrassed to admit how obsessed I was with her… My past self would have passed out if I knew this would happen someday:

Sara asked yesterday where I’m getting my protein throughout the day now that I’ve realized I was not getting near enough and have bumped it up. So, here is my list of things I’ve been eating plenty of lately:
*Core Power… this tastes like a milkshake to me so it is the easiest way for me to get in a lot of protein first thing in the day.
*Chia seeds (in my smoothie or on yogurt)
*Cottage cheese… I love cottage cheese so much.
*Greek yogurt
*Hardboiled eggs
*Kodiak Cakes (and I use milk and an egg instead of water)
*String cheese
*Beef jerky
*Rotisserie chicken (I hate cooking meat and this makes it so easy for me)
*Fresh cut deli meat (once again, I hate cooking meat haha)
*Almonds
Have any other ideas for ways I can get more protein?
Ever had an allergic reaction?
Have any trails close to you that you love to jump on?
