MAN v FAT Rochdale member William Wells is fundraising for Angels United with a mammoth running challenge.
Having already undertaken a triathlon in September and half marathons in October and November last year, he is about to head to the Isle of Man to run around the whole island in the coming weeks!
William is aiming to raise £1,000 for Angels United and you can read more about his story here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/IsleOfManWells
He said: “There are millions of people who have a similar story, if not worse! This is why myself and Mark have decided to raise as much money as possible for Angels United by participating in these challenges, finishing up by walking the around of Isle of Man at the end of February/beginning of March 2025. The distance is around 98 miles and my aim is to do it in around three or four days.
“Angels United was formed in 2020 by 13 dads and is aimed at supporting families who have lost a baby or child at any age or stage of pregnancy. They want all people from different backgrounds, cultures, religions to feel that they can approach them with confidence when they are looking for that something positive in a time of darkness.
“Finally, all this couldn’t be possible without MAN v FAT Rochdale. I started at MAN v FAT in September 2022 and weighed 130.8kg. Since then, I have lost around 30kg, which is almost 25% of my original body weight. MAN v FAT has helped my mental health, which is something I have struggled with over the last couple of years.”
