Want to run a larger saddle bag without it being a floppy mess? Well, Y-Mount says they offer such a product. And at this year’s Eurobike, Y-Mount launched their strapless saddlebag mount called, that’s right….the Y-Mount.
The new Y-Mount doesn’t just claim to offer strapless mounting, but it claims that it will eliminate that annoying “saddlebag sway”, no matter how large and heavily loaded the saddlebag is. They also claim that the Y-Mount weighs only 35g and will fit almost any bike.
Let’s take a look at the details.
Two guys named Thomas and Simon were fed up with saddlebags that were attached via straps. After thinking of a universal and durable fixing point that could be found on almost every bike, they decided to mount to the seat rails at four separate, fixed points for ultimate strength. They applied for a patent, and the Y-Mount was born.

The Y-mount is made of carbon fiber, claims to weigh in at a svelt 35g, and can be used for saddlebags, bottle holders, stabilizers, and mudguards. Also, the way the Y-Mount set up allows for the quick swap of bags and accessories.
